Colors are Universal, and throughout the ages, many different colors have been associated with different religious and spiritual meanings. The colors you chose are not arbitrary, but hold personal meaning.
We definitely have certain colors that "attract us", and other colors we can not even stand to wear or have around us. The colors we chose are deliberate, carefully selected, and have personal meaning to us as an expression of "who we are".
There are many different books and systems for color healing. You'll find that different colors are used for the chakras. Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means "Wheel of Light". Traditionally there are seven chakras and these are the energy centers of the enteric body. The chakras appear as wheel-like vortices of pure energy and are sometimes referred to as "lotuses". C.G. Jung referred to the chakras as the "gateway of consciousness".
